The Calm (sort of) before The Storm

The end of August has traditionally been a tricky time of year to do business. Are folks on vacation? Are they postponing making big decisions? I would answer yes to these two questions, for the most part. However, are they poised, like Olympic athletes, to launch themselves out from behind the starting line, at the first whiff of the post-Labor Day work week? You betcha. Whether its B2C, B2B or some other (new?) relationship out there, September is and always will be BUSY, BUSY, BUSY. We know that we have a few fleeting weeks before the END-OF-THE-YEAR, when again, a strange holding pattern emerges, where the "holidays" and year's end financial (read TAXES) issues are mightily distracting. There's tremendous pressure to accomplish during the early fall months, as well as tremendous opportunities for launching excellent business communications. A certain focus is back on the part of the consumer/client, and a willingness to achieve as much as possible, refreshed and rejuvenated by the change of seasons (well, at least above a certain latitude). The proverbial "clock" is ticking, and so must our creative minds keep pace and be highly focused on maximizing this short but rich phase of the year.
